The River (Beat CineGraphic)
2:1
Sacramento, The River City, starring Lexie
the Lab with music provided by Riq Reed. This
film was shot during the month of June,
Summer of 2011, in my backyard. It is a tale
of landscape travels through the paths of the
American River. I chose the piano track to
accompany this film because I felt the
combination was inspiring. I am using my new
Canon Vixia Camera with 24F MXP Cinema Mode
Settings and Hi Definition 1080p output.

Josephine Baker - Don't Touch My
Tomatoes (divas exoticas)

2:23
Josephine Baker (June 3, 1906 -- April 12,
1975) was an American dancer, singer, and
actress who found fame in her adopted
homeland of France. Nicknamed the "Bronze
Venus," the "Black Pearl," and even the
"Créole Goddess" in anglophone nations.
Josephine Baker was much more famous as a
cabaret performer, dancer and personality
than as a jazz singer but, as she shows on
some of these early recordings, she could
swing and improvise when she wanted to.

CIA Archives: LSD Experiment -
Schizophrenic Model Psychosis Induced by
LSD-25 - Art Drawing (1955)

23:57
DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org
Introduced by Sandoz Laboratories, with
trade-name Delysid, as a drug with various
psychiatric uses in 1947, LSD quickly became
a therapeutic agent that appeared to show
great promise. In the 1950s the CIA thought
it might be applicable to mind control and
chemical warfare; the agency's MKULTRA
research program propagated the drug among
young servicemen and students. The subsequent
recreational use of the drug by youth culture
in the Western world during the 1960s led to
a political firestorm that resulted in its
prohibition. Currently, a number of
organizations—including the Beckley
Foundation, MAPS, Heffter Research Institute
and the Albert Hofmann Foundation—exist to
fund, encourage and coordinate research into
the medicinal and spiritual uses of LSD and
related psychedelics. Artists and scientists
have been interested in the effect of LSD on
drawing and painting since it first became
available for legal use and general
consumption. Dr. Oscar Janiger was one of the
pioneers in the field studying the
relationship between LSD and creativity. What
fascinated Janiger was that "paintings, under
the influence of LSD, had some of the
attributes of what looked like the work done
by schizophrenics." Janiger maintained that
trained artists could "maintain a certain
balance, riding the edge" of the LSD induced
psychosis, "ride his creative Pegasus."
Janiger coined the term '"dry schizophrenia,"
where a person was able to control the

Paul Robeson - Mah Lindy Lou (1933)
3:14
Paul LeRoy Bustill Robeson (April 9,1898 -
Jan,23,1976) was a multi-lingual American
actor, athlete, Basso cantante concert
singer, writer, civil rights activist, fellow
traveler, Spingarn Medal winner, and Stalin
Peace Prize laureate. Robeson found fame as
an actor and singing star with his fine bass
voice. He was one of the few true basses in
American music, with his beautiful and
powerful voice descending as low as C below
the bass clef. In addition to his stage
performances, his renditions of old
spirituals were acclaimed; Robeson was the
first to bring them to the concert stage.
Paul Robeson with Uta Hagen in the Theatre
Guild production of Othello. His first roles
were in 1922 playing Simon in Simon the
Cyrenian at the Harlem YMCA and Jim in Taboo
at the Sam Harris Theater in Harlem. Taboo
was later re-named Vodoo. He was acclaimed
for his 1924 performance in the title role of
Eugene O'Neill's The Emperor Jones -
originally performed, also with great
success, by Charles Gilpin in 1920. He was
also noted in his early career for his
performance in All God's Chillun Got Wings in
which he portrayed the black husband of an
abusive white woman who, resenting her
husband's skin color, destroys his promising
career as a lawyer. His earliest surviving
film is 1924's Body and Soul. Next he played
Crown in the stage version of DuBose
Heyward's novel Porgy, which provided the
basis for George and Ira Gershwin's opera
Porgy and Bess. Then, in 1930, he starred in
the title role ...
